As a former mechanical engineer in a previous life, I was always fascinated by the way things move and work—whether it was the intricate machinery or the powerful biomechanics of the human body. Little did I know, this passion for movement would lead me down a path toward becoming a physiotherapist.
My roots in sports run deep. As a high-level amateur athlete with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), I learned firsthand what it takes to push your body to its limits. Those years of intense training, discipline, and resilience provided me with valuable insight into the intricacies of performance, recovery, and the importance of understanding the body’s mechanics.
Over the years, my interests began to focus more on the science behind movement. In particular, I developed a deep curiosity about low back pain, spines, shoulders, tendinopathy and biomechanics—how the body’s structure, movement patterns, and forces interact. This interest drove me to further my education and training, ultimately becoming a qualified strength and conditioning coach and sports nutritionist.
My experience as a mechanical engineer was incredibly beneficial in my transition into these areas. I approach the human body much like I would a piece of machinery: looking at its design, function, and the forces at play. This analytical mindset has been key in understanding not just how the body moves, but how to optimise performance, prevent injury and fix imbalances in the body.
I now excel in helping individuals understand their body mechanics, reduce injury risk, improve overall performance and get pain free. I’m committed to professional development and have completed post graduate training in areas such as the lumbar spine, dry needling (Gemt certified), shoulder injuries and ACL rehabilitation.Key Areas of interest
Low back pain, neck pain & complex spinal injuries
Shoulder injuries & post operative management
Sports injuries & rehabilitation
